Come Face to Face with the diversity of Malaysia’s migrant population.
'The Many Faces of Migration’ exhibition illustrates the different dimensions and realities of Malaysia’s migrant population in the 21st Century. Highlighting stories and sacrifices of migrants, the photographs acknowledge and appreciate the contribution migrants make to so many aspects of Malaysian society ….in homes caring for the young and the elderly, cleaners, gardeners, plantation workers, on construction sites, in factories, restaurants and as security guards….. ‘Putting a Face’ to their stories and struggles.
Exhibition Photographers (Lorenza Mazzucco and Ore Huiying) have captured images which offer insights into the lives and experiences of the migrant population in Malaysia.
Poetry reading by the renowned Cecil Rajendra who once described himself as a “lawyer by profession and a poet by compulsion”.
Film Screening: The story of a migrant worker “Aya” on her migrant experiences in Malaysia and her return to her home country.
